Over 200,000 civilians died and around 300,000 have been injured. To raise money for earthquake victims, a new celebrity version of We Are the World was released on February 12, 2010, during the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Over 75 musicians were involved in the remake, which was recorded in the same studio as the 1985 original.
Some of the singers are: Josh Groban, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, Barbra Streisand, P!nk and Celine Dion.
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice were making
Were saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
A.
