Owl City – Alligator Sky (ft Shawn Chrystopher)
This a song by Owl City (Adam Young’s band) from his third studio album All Things Bright and Beautiful. It was released this year, on April 12 as the lead single.
There are currently four versions: The first features Californian rapper Shawn Chrystopher, the second version omits Chrystopher's vocals – no rap, a third version featuring Atlanta rapper B.o.B and a fourth version, featuring vocals by Big Boi of OutKast.
Adam Young in this new album wanted to experiment new and different songs. Alligator Sky is where “ I wanted to pull this sort of hip-hop vibe. I'm a big fan of the way hip-hop music is put together and everything that goes into it -- being so beat-heavy and just focusing on the rhythm side of it, sometimes more than melody. But I wanted to marry those two ideas and just focus on the rhythm side of it then have this rapper do verses just as a new look to it."
Let's say it.. This song is bright and beautiful. :)
Where was I when the rockets came to life
And carried you away into the alligator sky
Even though, I'll never know what's up ahead
I'm never lettin' go, I'm never lettin' go
A.
