Troy Davis, a 42-year-old man from USA has been on death row since his 1991conviction for killing a policeman in Savannah in 1989.
However, there's always have been too much doubts around this case, specially doubts about his guilt. There are no physical evidence and Davis has always claimed his innocence. Actually seven of nine witnesses have changed their initial testimonies, they've said someone else committed this crime. Six witnesses have recanted their testimonies.
International Amnesty gave to the local authorities a petition signed by 650.000 people asking Troy Davis' last sentence to be changed.

The Orb, Primal Scream producer and Keane's drummer Richard Hughes are also supporting Amnesty's Too Much Doubt campaign against Troy Davis last sentence.
In 2009, Hughes visited Troy Davis in prison and has said:
"More than 650,000 people have already expressed their grave concerns about this case and we’re now down to just a few days to save Troy’s life. I promised him when I met him on death row that I wouldn’t stop fighting to prevent his execution and that’s what I’m going to do."
