Música a Metro is a Portuguese festival, the first one happening underground. The goal is clear: promote Portuguese music to the population that use the subway and also every citizen that live nearby.
It started 6 days ago, on the World’s Music day, and will be happening from Wednesday to Saturday (5pm – 8.30pm) until October 27th. The metro stations chosen were the ones with more activity: Cais do Sodré, Marquês de Pombal, Campo Grande and Aeroporto. Despite the first station mentioned, in order to watch the gigs you have to buy the ticket.
From the role of bands and artists invited to be part of this festival are very well known Portuguese names such as JP Simões or António Zambujo, and also other bands that are now starting to make their first (but huge) steps into the music world: We Trust (who recently performed at Optimus Alive), Vira Lata or Anarchicks.
