We are finalising this three-day review of one of the most charismatic festivals in Portugal: Optimus Alive - with different opinions and experiences like we did for Day 1 and Day 2.
Linda Martini (06pm):
Patricia: "I already knew a bit of Linda Martini's work and I always loved their energy and attitude towards music. Yet, they were able to conquer me and I felt absolutely in love with them after seeing them live.
Not only the kindness to the present audience but also what they were able to transmit with their music. They are incredible and they really make me proud for being Portuguese.
And even thought I knew they were good, their show was even better! I enjoyed every single second of it! Linda Martini, see you really soon!"
Ana: "It was the third time I saw Linda Martini live, and at Alive. I enjoyed it as much as the others but missed my favorite and epic song "Adeus tristeza". It was still another great gig to show the foreign that we, the Portuguese, know how to do good music!"
Brass Wires Orchestra (06.40pm):
Patricia: "I knew nothing about their work... I only knew they were Portuguese and actually, they were quite good. So when I knew they were performing I did my best to check them out!
Gladly, I did a good choice. They are young but their personality on stage show that they are a grown up band with clear thoughts for their future.
They did a really good job entertaining the numerous people that were at the secondary stage - Stage Heineken, leaving the feeling of 'I hope to see them again!'"
Of Monsters and Men (07.45pm):
Ana: "This show was the one I was expecting the whole Optimus Alive and it couldn't have gone any better. It was per-fe-ct! The crowd, the band, the musics, everything! OMAM are a very talented band, with great melodies and very nice people as well. I just can't wait to see them live again and I believe that after Sunday they will definitely want to come back! :)"
Alt-J (10.20pm):
Patricia: "Alt-J was one of those bands that I knew that were good so I only expected good things from them. Alt-J proved why they are so acclaimed by the critics.
They have an amazing presence on stage and their sound is incredible. I definitely what to see them again."
Kings of Leon (11pm):
Patricia: "Kings of Leon were a big disappointment. I like them, I follow their work and I expected nothing but a solid show.
Besides two or three songs, I felt that Kings Of Leon could do a lot better. They are a band with a lot of great songs and they weren't able to transmit that to their audience or even connect with them which was a shame."
Nádia: "Kings of Leon on the other hand...well, they seem to have made the fans pretty happy but for someone like me who isn't familiar with their music, it was hardly a captivating experience. I have the feeling i should have gone off and crammed in with the crowd by the Heineken stage as i saw so many people doing. That's where all the action seemed to be!"
Django Django (01.40am):
Patricia: "Django Django surprised me! They are a band full of energy and their power in live performances is really catchy. Django Django is amazing and everyone should experience them at some point!"
The Bloody Beetroots (03am):
Patricia: "I saw The Bloody Beetroots on Optimus Alive 2011, on a slightly different register, but they keep blowing my mind!
Their sound, energy and power is amazing! Sir Bob is absolutely a sir and his ability of joining electronic music with his classic formation is stunning and it's always a pleasure to see them!
They are incredible and their peculiar and iconic personality really highlights the entire show making them the really best band to end Optimus Alive!"
