Review: peixe:avião "peixe:avião" (2013)

Last May, we got the chance to talk about peixe:avião's single Avesso.

This indie rock band composed by André Covas, José Figueiredo, Luís Fernandes, Pedro Oliveira and Ronaldo Fonseca and they've released two albums 40.02 in 2008 and Madrugada in 2010.

After a very interesting and powerful debut single Avesso, which we wrote "units the song's darkness using a raw, monochromatic and really unconventional approach" (read more here), they are, finally, releasing their third album peixe:avião.

This record is a reflection of their different sound and perspective of their own music. Although we can immediately associate their sound, this upcoming record is fresh, turning into a beautiful (and needed) ride, showing their growth, their change and their own identity.
The first word that comes to mind when talking about this album, it's "risky".
"Risky" because they dared to explore, they dared to bring to light such different sounds, words and innovative connections and yet, it turned out to be this fantastic album.

One of the highlights it's the clear importance they give to every detail, contributing to a very tasteful bunch of songs that automatically makes us wonder about what's coming next.
But let's not make them rush. This record deserves to be enjoyed, celebrated and mostly, heard.

There's certainly a big curiosity about the way they are going to present it on their live performances but by only listening to their record, there's a huge chance that they are going to surprise us.

Must-listen songs: Avesso, Ponto de Fuga and Voltas Cegas

The different approaches to each song is really rich and somehow iconic, bringing this unity feeling and for sure, a record that no one will want to miss.
