Augustana - Boston

Augustana is an American rock band from San Diego, California. As a lot of other bands this one began in College. In 2002, Dan Layus (vocals, guitar, piano) joined some friends to create music. Initially their band’s name would be The Looking Glass but changed their mind after finding another band of the same name. They quickly chose the "Augustana" which Josiah suggested. It was also the name of Augustana College which frequently traveled to Greenville to compete in sporting events.
All the Stars and Boulevards was released September 6, 2005, the first single from the album, Boston, was released in 2005. It was originally produced in 2003 by Stephen Short forMidwest Skies and Sleepless Mondays and was later re-recorded with producer Brendan O'Brien for All the Stars and Boulevards. A girl who went to high school withDan Layus and left for Gordon College was the inspiration for this song.
