Muppet Show - Mahna Mahna
This song was originally titled Mah-Na Mah-Na, written by Piero Umiliani, in 1968, for an Italian documentary about life in Sweden.
Hmmmm wait... WHAT? For a documentary? Ok, if they - Source - say so...
This song is mostly known due to Muppet Show, although it was played many times on different shows before being the opening number in the first episode of The Muppet Show (season 10).
Regardless the many versions, the main things remain the same: "a central character starts out conforming to the structure of the song, but falls into improvisational scat passages whenever possible. Although the back-up singers attempt to bring order back to the number, their effort is ultimately futile.".
This version was performed by Mahna Mahna and the Snowths.
The funny part is when Mahna Mahna leaves the theater. After that, the phone rings and Kermit answers the call and brings the phone telling the Snowths "It's for you," then Mahna Mahna has the last word, "Mahna Mahna!".
