Beirut, Santa Fe

Santa Fe appears on the very well proclaimed album by the critics, The Rip Tide, of the New Mexican band Beirut.

Beirut are a bit complex but somehow traditional and the song is a good reflection of it.
The song Santa Fe is a reminder of Condon's synth-pop EP Holland, contrasting with Beirut's orchestral melodies. But this is probably a homecoming for Zach Condon, the boy who left home to travel the world in search of romantic songs and after seeing everything, decided to return and embrace his home in a more mature way.

With this video, that talks about a love lost and found again, full with bizarre moments - inspirations from the 70's freeze poses, strange cults and some other peculiar things - we get impressed with all the concept even without seeing the relation between video and song.
But one thing is clear: Love is a trip, and Beirut songs are a good way to create a chronicle of them.

"Temptations won
And what ever comes through the door
See it face to face
All like your place"
