Electronic Arts - #6 Trikk (Interview)

This week is interview's week. So this week I interviewed a person which I believe is revolucioning the music industry. Of course is not the only one, but I believe is one of the pionners.

Most proud of all, he's portuguese. And he's living in Oporto. His name's Trikk.

FYMS: So Trikk. tell us about youself in a few words?

Trikk: Well, good question .. i'm just a normal guy trying to make some music.

FYMS: Describe your childhood in a track?

Trikk: Mr Fingers - Can You Feel It

FYMS: Favourite Track ever

Trikk: This is the most difficult question, for any producer, musician, i think, for me, i don't have one, i have several favourites.

FYMS: Your style/genre is kind of unique. Explain it to us.

Trikk: I had never thought of that, it's kind difficult to explain, i have some favourite artists, mostly the newcomers but i think it's because i'm fascinated by Post-Dubstep, Uk Bass, House and Techno, beautiful synth lines of Chicago House, soft and sub bass, dreamy and one-phrase voice of well produced tracks on UK bass and Post-dubstep, it's like to put some old stuff on a new stuff to create this kind of sound, Post-dubstep is fresh and new, house and Chicago house is eternal, i think people identify themselves on this line between old and new.

FYMS: This mini-mix consists on what?

Trikk: Well, it consists basically on my new tracks, and the influences to make music recently.

FYMS: You've came to Lisbon this weekend to play a liveact on Mezzanine Bar. How was it?

Trikk: Yes, was the first time in Lisbon to play, and it was good, but it was not the best day or moment because on the same day plastikman, joakim and other good stuff play in other places, and divided a little the public, but I enjoyed the experience.

FYMS: Can you tell us about your near future releases/projects?

Trikk: I have some really exciting release on ManMakeMusic of George Fitzgerald, a 12'' with remix of (i can tell you, but just think on really excellent producers of London, Berlin ..) it's for February, and i have a gig in London thanks to the label of George, i have some releases on Container, Spagat Music, i don't have date yet for these two.

FYMS: Complete these sentences…

Trikk: ...i wish live of music.

b) The best thing people can say about me is…

Trikk: ...i'm honest.

c) And the worst is…

Trikk: ...i'm cocky.

d) In ten years…

Trikk: ...I wish have a residency at some major club in London or Berlin, live of music, sign some tracks for major labels, and that's all, hope i have health, love and happiness.

FYMS: What would you tell to FYMS readers?

Trikk: I just want to say, i don't really measure everything I achieve on my short career, one moment you have it, in other you don't, enjoy the moment.
