U2, October

U2's second album October was released in 1981.
This album is about Spiritual themes and was inspired by Bono, The Edge and Larry Mullen Jr.'s memberships in a Christian group called "Shalom Fellowship" that led them to question the relationship between Christian faith and the rock n' roll lifestyle.

Besides the very good reception by the critics, this album is one of the least known U2 albums always appearing on the bottom of polls and choices.

October, song from the same titled album, is considered one of the most classic and quiet almost intrumental songs from U2. Two alternate versions were released on the 1982 soundtrack to They Call It An Accident. The first was a remix and the other one a shorter but very similar version to the original.

October and the trees are stripped bare
Of all they wear.
What do I care?

October and kingdoms rise
And kingdoms fall
But you go on
And on.
