On the same year, Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith left their studies to focus on music and recorded two EP's - This Machine and No Light - with music engineer Aaron Short, that studied with Powers and Xayalith on Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand (MAINZ), on their home city Auckland.
On their first visit to the US, they already counted with Short on their live performances.
An year later the band included David Beadle on bass and Jesse Wood on drums.
In 2010 they released their single Young Blood, promoting the debut studio album Passive Me • Aggressive You solidifying the band's success, reaching many top charts.
In December 2010 The Naked And Famous were nominated "Sound of 2011" by BBC.
In 2011, the band won several categories on the New Zealand Music Awards, becoming the highlight of those awards.
No Way is a track from their debut album and is going to be released as single on next December 11.
