Yesterday, January 20th, Etta James, the soul and blues legend died after a battle with leukemia. James was 73 years old.
She born in Los Angeles as Jamesetta Hawkins, and at the age of 5, she was singing gospel in churches and on radio stations.
Etta James is known for hits like Good Rockin' Daddy, All I Could Do Was Cry, Trust In Me and the eternal wedding-related At Last.
During the 1960's she battled heroin addiction, but she never stopped working, recording the classic LP Tell Mama with Muscle Shoals house band.
She continued releasing albums and touring in the the middle of 2000's.
The known R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles played James in the 2008 film Cadillac Records and performed her song At Last at Barack Obama's inaugural ball.
