News // First edition of Lisboa Jamaican Day

Now that Reggae is finally receiving the deserved attention in Portugal being part of very important and different festivals like Sumol Summer Fest, Reggae stage on Festival Sudoeste, the Festival MUSA Cascais, a new idea is given to this genre.


So an event is being launched in the Portuguese capital.
Lisboa Jamaican Day is going to celebrate the Jamaican culture, history and music with music performances besides expositions, street markets, movies and a lot of workshops (the predictions will include Dance - dancehall, history of reggae, history of the Rastafari culture, percussion and history of soundsystems.)

For ten hours, from 2pm to 12am on July 21 the idea is to create the environment and celebration that you feel on the known Jamaican street parties.

The confirmed artists, for this event, are Faya Fex, Mystic Fyah, Selecta Matata, Jah Version, Roots Dimension & Guests, Concrete Jungle, Big Up, One Sun and Big Badda Boom and they will perform for 60 minutes each during this special day.

For this day, and specially for Jamaican and reggae lovers and to Rastafari followers, you can expect a very diverse day, full of culture, music, expositions and you can embrace new experiences.

Remember next July 21, starting at 2pm, on Cais do Sodré a full day dedicated to reggae.
