Nanna Fabricius is the real name of the Copenhagen-born-artist Oh Land.
Oh Land has a very deep connection with music - her mother sang opera and her father composed classical music - probably, one of the reasons why her music is so inspiring, so melodic and even theatrical.
Besides this "magical world", she also evokes different and iconic female artists like Lily Allen, Robyn or Feist.
For eight years (from 10 to 18 years old), she dedicated herself to ballet even studying in a very prominent dance school, in Stockholm. After a very terrible back injury, that would end her dream in a dance career, "I had to reinvent myself" she explained to Interview Magazine.
Her inner discovery resulted in Oh Land - a electronic-pop-experimental-dream-inspired with touches of an epic classic-composition that will count with dramatic strings and pianos (listen to her song Numb, and you'll see).
About her writing and composing process she also explained "My criteria was to only write songs I couldn't live without".
With three studio albums: Fauna in 2008, Oh Land in 2011 and Wish Bone in 2013, besides a self-titled EP in 2010.
White Nights is the perfect evoke of dreams, catchy beats and joyful vocals. Oh Land was able to bring this childish aura turning into something mature, lovely and really interesting.
The electronic features, the overload kooky backing vocals surely brighten the song even more.
Oh Land is a bunch of different things: adventure, curiosity and innovation and with that, she isn't afraid of mixing different genres and taking advantage of her knowledge to create good and inspiring music.
