Janis Joplin - Piece of my Heart
Janis Joplin was an american singer and songwriter. She died at the age of 27 (1943 - 1970). First she was the lead singer of Big Brother and the Holding Company (rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1965) and later as a solo artist.
Janis was a pioneer in a male-dominated rock industry of the late 1960s and therefore a huge importance to other female singers in the rock mucis bussiness.
I love her voice and her songs. I wish I could have seen her live.
Piece of My Heart is a song written by Jerry Ragovoy and Bert Berns and originally recorded by Erma Franklin in 1967. The song came to greater mainstream attention when Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company covered the song in 1968 on their album Cheap Thrills and had a hit with it.
I'll say come on, come on, come on, come on, yeah take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby. (break a..)
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, (come on…)
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, yeah.
Well, You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good
A.
