Peter Frampton, Show Me the Way

Today I choose Peter Frampton, after my sweet discover yesterday.
HE IS COMING TO PORTUGAL IN NOVEMBER!
I don't know his work in a very deeply way but he is amazing. Since I was a little girl I frequently asked my father to play his dvd "Live in Detroit" from 1999, because of his talk box that I used to call "the man with the tube guitar".

Peter Frampton started his career pretty young. His parents understood that he had a touch for music that wasn't so common. With 8 years old he got an Ukulele and learnt how to play child song. With 9 years he got his acoustic guitar and started to have lessons.
During that time, Peter was accepted to belong to a school band - which the other boys were pretty much older. On that band also played David Jones, now worldwide known has David Bowie. With eleven Peter made his first band and with fourteen he began his professional career with "The Preachers".
After joining "The Hert", in 1966 and recording a few albums, he decided to leave the band. He wanted to be recognized for his music and not for his beauty, also he was a bit tired of labels pressures.
The band "Humble Pie" was formed in 1969. Started has one of the singers, three years later he was only a guitarist losing his voice inside the band. He leaves the band 2 months after the release of the album "Performance - Rockin' the Filmore" which was a huge success.
Married and leaving in New York, Peter worked has a studio musician, playing in albums from Harry Nilsson and George Harrison.
His solo record came in 1972 under the name "Wind of Change". On the next year he published another album, now with his band "Frampton's Camel".
Frampton gets a divorce, finished "Frampton's Camel" and spends a few days for himself and his new girlfriend. In a morning, he wrote "Show me the way" and "Baby, I love your way" came in the afternoon. His next album "Frampton" was recorded almost by himself. He opened gigs to ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, Rod Stewart and so on, his double album "Frampton Comes Alive" is recorded in San Francisco. On the first week the album sold 1 million copies and until nowadays the live album is the most sold of the history. After the success, he started to have many problems: the recording of an unsuccessful new album, participation on a cinema fiasco “Stg. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band”, a car accident that left him between life and death, he discovered that his financial team had stole him and he recorded his album "The Art of Control" - after the label fired him. After all the trouble, he got married, had a daughter and recorded in 1986, "Premonition" under a new label.Getting a help of his great friend David Bowie, he starts to get recognized again. Thanks to Bowie that invited him to play in his new record, Frampton is recognized for the amazing guitarist that he is.During the recording of his solo album, his friend Steve Marriot died on a firem after he gets divorced of his second wife. Consequently got into depression again. In 1995, he published "Frampton Comes Alive! II" but even with all the marketing and investment didn't sell very well. In 2003, he publishes the album "Now", and went on tour with Styx and The Elms.In September 2006, he published an instrumental work named "Fingerprints".In February 2007, the record "Fingerprints" was nominated and won the Grammy for Best Instrumental Pop album. In 2010, he released his album "Thank You Mr. Churchill", and began a tour with the english band Yes.

This song is amazing shows so well Frampton's talent and creativity. I really enjoy this song!!

With Love,
P
