Iron & Wine, Flightless Bird, American Mouth

Iron & Wine is the artistic name of the american folk singer/writer Sam Beam.

Everything began after Sam Beam got his MFA (Master of Fine Arts) degree from Florida State University Film School, the degree in Art, specialized in Paiting, from Virginia Commonwealth University.

It took him 7 years, to borrow from a friend a 4-track recorder, he began making demos and Sam Beam gave one to his friend Michael Bridwell, brother of Band of Horses member Ben Bridwell.
Consequently, Michael gave to Mike McGonigal, editor of Yeti Magazine, that decided to include Dead Man's Will on one of his magazine's compilation CD, receiving the attention of co-owner Jonathan Poneman.

"I was a quick wet boy, diving too deep for coins
All of your straight blind eyes wide on my plastic toys
Then when the cops closed the fair, I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog-eared map and called for you everywhere"
