Oasis, The Shock Of The Lightning

Oasis, previously The Rain, were a rock band from Manchester, England, created in 1991 characterizing the "traditional" brit rock.
Besides their high music level, Oasis have been always known for the peculiar behavior of their members, mostly Gallagher brothers Liam (vocals) and Noel (guitar and vocals), but being part the other discrete members Gem Archer (guitar), Andy Bell (bass) and Chris Sharrock (drums), besides other people that made specific participations.

Oasis are considered one of the most influential and successful British bands, with their (What's The Story) Morning Glory? became one of the fourth best-selling album in the UK history.

In August 2009, Noel Gallagher announced his departure from the band, a month later confirmed by his brother Liam. But the band continued, until February 2010 when Noel left the band and Liam confirmed "Oasis" - Liam and the other Oasis members - would continue under a new name Beady Eye.
With seven studio albums - Definitely Maybe (1994), (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995), Be Here Now (1997), Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000), Heathen Chemistry (2002), Don't Believe the Truth (2005) and Dig Out Your Soul (2008), besides 3 compilations and one live recording. Having such different hits like Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger or Champagne Supernova.

Oasis were seriously influenced by their countrymen The Beatles but also by The Rolling Stones and The Who.
Several bands like Maroon 5, Aaron Norton, Coldplay or Arctic Monkeys also mentioned Oasis has part of their influences. The Shock Of The Lightning is the debut single from Oasis' last album.
Noel said of the song: "If 'The Shock of the Lightning' sounds instant and compelling to you, it's because it was written dead fast. And recorded dead fast. 'The Shock of the Lightning' basically is the demo. And it has retained its energy. And there's a lot to be said for that, I think. The first time you record something is always the best."

A curious thing about this song is the excerpt of the song "Champagne Supernova" at the very end of the track which is audible if the track is played in reverse.

"Love is a time machine
Up on the silver screen
It's all in my mind
Love is a litany
A magical mystery
And all in good time, and all in good time"
