Wolfmother, Joker & The Thief

Wolfmother are an Australian band from Sydney, created in 2000.

The band only became official three years later, releasing later their Wolfmother EP (2004).
They are constantly compared with 70's Hard Rock classics like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, including other genres like Psychedelic rock and folk.
Initially the band was composed by a trio - Andrew Stockdale (vocals and guitars), Chris Ross (bass and keyboards) and Myles Heskett (drums) who left in August 2008 due to "irreconcilable personal and music differences".
With the same formation since January 2009, Wolfmother is formed by the remain founder Andrew Stockdale (vocals and guitars), Ian Peres (bass, keyboards and backing vocals), Aidan Nemeth (guitars) and Dave Atkins (drums).

Besides the 2003's Wolfmother EP, they've released two studio albums - Wolfmother (2005) and Cosmic Egg (2009), adding two more EPs - Dimensions (2006) and iTunes Live from Sydney (2010).

In 2007 Wolfmother won a Grammy for their song Woman as Best Hard Rock performance competing with bands like System Of A Down, Tool and Nine Inch Nails and other awards like J Awards and APRA Awards - the Australasian Performing Right Association.

Joker & The Thief was the sixth single from Wolfmother's self-titled debut album released as single on October 28, 2006 and November 20 on the UK. The song nominated for Best Rock Video and Video of the Year awards at the MTV Australia Awards.
"Joker" and "Thief" are references to Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower.

The song appeared on movies like Jackass 2, Shrek The Third and The Hangover and video games like Need For Speed: Carbon and MLB 07: The Show besides Mitsubishi and Peugeot commercials.

"I said the joker is a wanted man,
He makes his way it all across the land,
See him sifting through the sand,
So I'll tell you all the story about the joker and the thief of the night"
