DJ Tiësto is the artistic name for a dutch DJ, remixer and musical producer Tijs Michiel Verwest. He became one of the most famous names of the worldwide scenario for electronic music and trance. Although he has used several names in the past, he is more known has DJ Tiësto. Nowadays he is leaving the "DJ" to remain Tiësto.
He was the first DJ playing live on the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. He received several awards during his career - including a Grammy, he was the "Best DJ in the World" for three consecutive times for DJ Magazine.
He contributed for charity and in April 2006 he was nominated world's ambassador against AIDS, which he recorded an exclusive track "Dance4life".
In 2008 and 2009, Tiësto was considered International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) on Winter Music Conference, in Miami, as the best DJ in the world.
