Mt. Desolation is my today's choice.
From this country band make part two brilliant artists and most of all musicians Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin, both from the english band and my favorite Keane.
This project began on a irish bar, where Tim and Jesse went to have a few beers and found out they wanted to create a different project, a country one based on their passion for this specific american genre.
Besides the principal members, we can also see members of Noah & The Whale, The Killers, The Long Winters, The Staves and Mumford & Sons - Fimbo (drums), Jessica Staveley-Taylor (backing vocals, acoustic guitar and piano), John-William Scott (bass and guitar), Phil Renna (fiddle and keyboards), Andrew Lowe (bass), John Roderick (backing vocals and guitar), Pete Roe (keyboards and backing vocals) and Tom Hobden (fiddle). They also invited Tim's wife, Jayne Rice-Oxley, and Jesse's mother Charity Quin for the backing vocals, "Country" Winston Marshall for the banjo, François Deville for pedal steel and the guy I've already talk about Ronnie Vannucci from the american band The Killers for drums, guitars and vices.
To know their hole story which is more funny than it seems click here.
Their unique self-titled album is composed with 10 songs (if bought in different platforms you could find extra songs) including the one I choose to present you with
"State of Our Affairs"- very nice, calm and so relaxing! I can't describe it, the piano looks so but so damn gorgeous with and without effects, love it! And the fiddle? OMG! Sounds so common here, so pretty with all his simplicity!
Extraordinary fascinating!
With all my love,
P x
PS we would love to hear from you, what you guys have to tell us! Leave a comment/suggestion here or on our facebook page.
Charity Quin is Jesse's mother, not his wife.
