Sheryl Crow - If it makes you happy

Sheryl Crow was born in 1962 and she is an American singer-songwriter, record producer and actress. She has already won 9 Grammy Awards. She has performed with The Rolling Stones and has sung duets with Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Luciano Pavarotti, Michelle Branch, and Sting among others.
Sheryl has released 7 studio albums, 2 compilations, and a live album and has contributed with some songs to film soundtracks.

This song was the lead single from Sheryl Crow's 1996 eponymous album and it won Best Female Rock Vocal Performance at the 1997 Grammy Awards.

According to Crow, the inspiration for the song was her feelings after the massive success of her first album, as her record label and the media put pressure on her to follow it up.

Sheryl and Miley Cyrus performed this song together in the 2009 VHI Divas.
It is a good version of the song. Miley did a great job.
Personal Opinion: I don't like Miley very much, but I think this is the kind of songs she should sing!

If it makes you happy
It can't be that bad
If it makes you happy
Then why the hell are you so sad
You get down, real low down
You listen to Coltrane, derail your own train
Well who hasn't been there before?
I come round, around the hard way
Bring you comics in bed, scrape the mold off the bread
And serve you french toast again
Well, o.k. I still get stoned
I'm not the kind of girl you'd take home

A.
