Noah And The Whale are an English indie folk band, including Charlie Fink (vocals, guitars and ukulele), Tom Hobden (keyboards and fiddle), Matt "Urby Whale" Owens (bass guitar), Fred Abbott (guitar and keyboards) and Michael Petulla (drums).


After the release of three studio albums Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down in 2008, The First Days of Spring in 2009 and Last Night On Earth in 2011 and one live EP at the iTunes festival in 2011, they are finally achieving the deserved recognition.

Life is Life is the third single taken from Last Night On Earth and it's really a positive song.
In my opinion the song has a very clear and positive message. It doesn't matter how the situation is, you have the strength to change it. And by changing it you have a possibility to start something new, to influence someone to do the same.
You are the one who is in charge of being the change you want to see on others and by doing it, by fighting your dreams and the situations you will inspire others and especially your own life.

I'm an absolutely fan of this type of songs so I'm very anxious to see Noah And The Whale on the second day of Optimus Alive, on June 15 on the main stage.
And surely they will play other known songs like L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N, 5 Years Time or Rock And Daggers.

News // Latest confirmed names on Portuguese Festivals (UPDATE)

On the last days several artists have been confirmed to most of the Portuguese festivals.

A lot of debut performances are going to happen but there's also space for incredible bands with many years of career.
Check all the confirmations below:

On Optimus Alive happening in the Passeio Marítimo de Algés has recently confirmed the presence of Death In Vegas, Buraka Som Sistema and Danko Jones (that's going to replace the North-American Lostprophets who cancelled their presence due to "schedule commitments") on July 13. The first two artists are confirmed to perform on the Alternative Stage - Palco Heineken - while Danko Jones is replacing Lostprophets on the main stage - Palco Optimus.

On July 14, performing on the same days as Florence + The Machine, Mumford And Sons and The Cure, the young North-American project Awolnation is performing on Palco Heineken and the British Noah And The Whale will perform on Palco Optimus.

Four more names have been added to Ornatos Violeta, on EDP Paredes de Coura. The North-American Midlake will perform on August 15 and Kasabian, Anna Calvi and Of Montreal are performing on August 16, the last day of this festival.

On Marés Vivas TMN three names have been added: The Sounds on the same day as Wolfmother and Franz Ferdinand, July 18 and two days after, July 20, Ebony Bones and Billy Idol were confirmed to play alongside with Gogol Bordello.

On Super Bock Super Rock, happening in Meco near Sesimbra - the organisation has recently confirmed the performances of Hot Chip on July 5 and Friendly Fires, Wraygunn and Lana Del Rey on July 6.

Sudoeste TMN has confirmed the presence of The Roots, better known for being the resident band on Jimmy Fallon's TV Show since 2009. The band is going to perform on August 4 on the same day as The Ting Tings and Xutos & Pontapés. Check here.

Noah And The Whale, L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.

Noah And The Whale are a indie folk band from London, created in 2006.
The members of the band are Charlie Fink (vocals, guitar and ukelele), Tom Hobden (fiddle and keyboards), Matt "Urby Whale" Owens (bass guitar), Fred Abbott (guitar and keyboards) and Michael Petulla (drums).
Their name comes from a combination of  one of the band's favorite movies Noah Baumbach's The Squid And The Whale.

Besides all the good critics reception, Noah And The Whale are only now getting recognized for their music. The band is usually compared with Belle & Sebastian or Bonnie Prince Billy.

With three released albums Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down (2008), The First Days Of Spring (2009) and Last Night On Earth (2011), the band have already suffered several member changes.

L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. is the first single taken from their Last Night On Earth.
This song was released in a digital way and reached the #14 place on the UK Single Charts.
