Discovery, Carby

On a previous posts, Rostam's duo-side-project was mentioned.

Discovery are an American indie rock mixed with electronic band formed in 2005 by Rostam Batmanglij, member of Vampire Weekend, and Wesley "Wes" Miles, singer from Ra Ra Riot - who started to make music together in the summer of 2005.

In 2009 Discovery released their debut album LP on July 7, 2009 through XL Recordings.
Besides Batmanglij and Miles, the album also features vocal contributions from Ezra, from Vampire Weekend and Angel Deradoorian from Dirty Projectors.

Patrick Sisson - a music critic - that this album is "filled with innocent, lovelorn lyrics and the last 30 years' worth of guilty-pleasure keyboard cliches".
In 2009, Pitchfork Media's Scott Plagenhoef said "this could be your favorite or most-loved record of the year".

This song named Carby, features the Vampire Weekend singer Ezra Koenig and it's probably the most danceable song of the record. We can notice on the song that the vocals are manipulated with an auto-tune, which are back on track.

"Finally I feel all right
Cause I only got to try
Only close my eyes
And maybe I can see the light"

Rostam, Don't Let It Get To You

Rostam Batmanglij or simply Rostam is mostly known for his work on the American band Vampire Weekend.

With 27 years old, Rostam is a producer and multi-instrumentalist and is applying all his knowledge in many different projects.

Besides his successful band with Ezra Koenig, Chris Tomson and Chris Baio, he is the co-founder of the electro-soul band Discovery with Ra Ra Riot vocalist Wes Miles.
In 2010, Rostam wrote a song "All Summers", for the very known label Converse, featuring besides himself, Kid Cudi and Bethany Cosentino from Best Coast.
On his twitter account, he revealed he usually releases solo work under the name Boys Like Us.

He also is a producer using his name Rostam, producing songs like The Trick from Das Racist's album Relax.

A few days ago, he published on his tumblr a song named Woods.
On November 1st,  he had a small conversation live on BBC Radio 1 with Zane Lowe, where he presented his new track Don't Let It Get To You.

Our Mike Bek heard the track and revealed that he likes this Rostam song "I think the way of singing and the instruments have nothing to do with each other but for me that's just a positive point. It's thinking outside the box". There's a heavy and rhythmic instrumental but the vocals sound extremely soft, which at first sight would make us feel a bit awkward.
Mike Bek also mentioned how well the title Don't Let It Get To You suited with the song, because the "instrumental recalls of a War sound and Rostam's voice sound too relaxing",that made you "think beyond the standard".
