Salto, Deixar Cair

Salto is the Portuguese word for Jump and is also the name of a Portuguese band created in 2007 by Guilherme Tomé Ribeiro and Luis Montenegro, with only 16 years old. Nowadays, they also count with the talented Tito Romão.

In 2010 they were part of Novos Talentos FNAC and Amor Fúria - Depósito de Inúteis from Optimus Discos, participating in big festivals like Optimus Alive.

But 2012 is their year. The homonym album is set to be released next July 2, after a year and a half of hard work. Influenced by such different bands and artists like Rufus Wainwright, Arctic Monkeys or the Portuguese Ornatos Violeta they created a new kind of expression, a new youth style where they celebrate their mother language and mostly where they celebrate Pop.

Full of personality and freshness from people with early twenties, their sound goes somewhere between the 60's to dance, with a bit of New Order and Pet Shop Boys 80's characteristic melodies and at some point some of James Blake.

Salto's record was produced by New Max - better known for being part of Expensive Soul.

The presentation single is the delicious, incredible and really catchy Deixar Cair.

News // James on Rock In Rio 2012

The British band James are now confirmed their performance on the Portuguese edition of Rock In Rio, 2012.

James were confirmed on the same day as Bruce Springsteen and the Portuguese Xutos & Pontapés.

They are known for songs like Laid, Sometimes or Sit Down.

Rock In Rio Lisboa 2012 is going to happen between May 25 and 26 and June 1 to 3. The daily ticket is around 61€.

Already confirmed for the festival are:

May 25

Metallica, Evanescence, Mastodon, Sepultura (with Tambours du Bronx)

June 1

Lenny Kravitz, Maroon 5, Ivete Sangalo, Expensive Soul

June 3

News // New names on Rock In Rio 2012

Sepultura, (on the picture below) Evanascence and Mastodon are the new confirmation on the 2012 Portuguese edition of RIR.

Today was confirmed the presence of three more names on May 25th, being closed the official Metal day of Rock In Rio 2012.

Besides the already confirmed Metallica, who are going to "remember" Black Album, Sepultura will come to Palco Mundo with Tambours du Bronx, Mastodon (who performed on Coliseu de Lisboa yesterday) and Evanescence.

Already confirmed are Lenny Kravitz, Maroon 5, Expensive Soul and Ivete Sangalo on June 1 and Bruce Springsteen June 3.

News // Metallica on Rock In Rio Lisboa 2012

Metallica are going to perform on Rock In Rio Lisboa on May 25, 2012.

The performance was announced by RIR's organisation. The tickets for this day are available since yesterday and will cost 58€ until the end of the month and 61€ starting on January 1, 2012.

This Metallica's show is going to focus their homonym album, also known as Black Album, released 20 years ago.

One of their better known songs - Nothing Else Matters - belongs to this album.

The other Rock In Rio Lisboa's confirmation are Lenny Kravitz, Maroon 5, Expensive Soul and Ivete Sangalo on June 1 and Bruce Springsteen and Xutos & Pontapés on June 3.

Remember that this Rock In Rio's fifth edition in Portugal is going to happen between May 25 and 16 and June 1 to 3.

News // Rock In Rio Lisboa 2012: Details

This week more confirmations to the Portuguese version of Rock In Rio were announced.

After the announcement of Bruce Springsteen and the Portuguese band Xutos & Pontapés to perform on June 3, on Palco Mundo, this week the organisation confirmed a few more artists to perform on June 1.

Lenny Kravitz, Maroon 5, the Brazilian singer Ivete Sangalo and the Portuguese Expensive Soul are now the full headline artists for Palco Mundo on June 3.

The information was shared on the radio station Mega Hits and later confirmed on a Press Release from RIR Organisation.

The daily ticket's price to Rock In Rio Lisboa 2012 is 58€ (changing to 61€ starting on January 1, due to the tax changes) and will be available on Fnac, 69 banks that belong to Millennium BCP, BP Filling Stations and the official event's site.

Rock In Rio Lisboa 2012 is going to the 5th edition in Portugal and will happen between May 25 and 26 and June 1,2 and 3.
