JUBA release their debut album "Mynah"

Almost a year ago, we presented you JUBA - read here.

Now, they start their presentation with "JUBA is the capital of South Sudan".

It's actually true but it's also the name of a young and fresh Portuguese band, composed by João, Joel, Miguel and Tomás - known for their "bedroom projects" Tropical Tobacco and Colour is a Common Mistake.

After performing throughout various festivals such as Milhões de Festa, Red Bull Tour Bus and Vodafone Mexefest, they joined forces with the label pontiaq and, finally, release their debut album Mynah.
Mynah can be described as "the bird of discord", based on Thai legends and folklore myths, who is capable to create new and unknown sounds being praised as much as feared.

This way, Mynah is the perfect combination reflecting their first year of existence and mixing subtly the oriental mysticism with their own talent - strong and marked guitars, delicate vocal melodies and creating an iconic identity.

Tropical Tobacco releases Sadie

Sadie is the new song from the Portuguese pop/experimental project.

Very melodic, intense and dreamy - Sadie is a bit different from the previous released song Pinapple Express.
This song expresses clearly Tropical Tobacco's evolution, keeping his essence through experimentation and mostly, highlighting, the idea of this unknown magical and mysterious world.

Always a surprise but always good!

JUBA, Bloodvessels

JUBA are a fresh and young Portuguese band from the city of Lisbon.

This project joins members from Tropical Tobacco and Colour Is A Common Mistake.

With a first single Bloodvessels, recently recorded at Blacksheep Studios -, and under the guidance and production of the talented hands of Makoto Yagyu (known from being members of PAUS, Riding Pânico and If Lucy Fell) and Fábio Jevelim (from Men Eater and Riding Pânico), they may be new with a freshly recorded single but they know how to win people's hearts.

The song - check it below - is available for a free download from their bandcamp page here.

They are, unquestionably, a very talented band with a promising path.
Not much is known about this band but that makes you more concerned about music instead of connecting with faces or previous works. Mystery is missing around the world and they have that important key, which can be tremendously interesting with well managed.

On this video, it's possible to see their "summer retreat, where many of their cosmic tunes were brought into life".
And gladly because I'm really eager to listen more from JUBA.

For more information about the band check their Facebook, bandcamp and Youtube.

Tropical Tobacco, Pineapple Express

Tropical Tobacco is a very young pop/experimental solo project from Lisbon, Portugal.

This young man describes his project has "a young man, a guitar, all the midi paraphernalia you can imagine and a voice out of tune."

Created in last January, Tropical Tobacco has released a two-track EP named aboriginal - recorded at his home having has inspiration the experimentation, loops mixed with several instruments turning to this magical and mysterious world. Ambiguous is the other song that belong to this EP. Download the songs legally and for free here.

All the music inspires this young artist and also revealed that belongs to a band, without mentioning which one - "they are two completely different things" he says.

Pineapple Express sounds a lot of a Wu Lyf music - somehow the combination of a funny instruments transmitting an excitement environment and a peculiar and rusty voice brings all that Wu Lyf spirit, but one thing is right - Tropical Tobacco has a promising future!
