Our site is about
music stories. And I have one pretty simple for the one that I'm going to share today.
The band is very known and so is the song. It's from
Florence and the Machine and the song is called
Dog Days Are Over.
It's the second single released from their debut album called
Lungs. Did you know the drumming sound we can hear in this song was made by her banging her hands against the wall. How cool?
Also, did you know that the song was inspired by a giant text installment full of colors titled
Dog Days Are Over by artist
Ugo Rondinone, which Florence used to see every day, riding her bike over Waterloo Bridge.
Let me say I would love to see this huge text everyday like Florence use to.
It's basically the idea of being free and that's exactly how I'm feeling right now. I've just finished my exams and will have 2 weeks and a half off. Expect more posts - at least as long as I've something to write about, I will!
Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with her drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run
