themed week // Editors, Munich

Editors are a indie rock British band created in 2002 by a couple of friends who met each other on Stafforshire University - Tom Smith (lead vocals, rhythm guitar and piano), Chris Urbanowicz (ead guitar and synthesizer), Russel Leetch (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Ed Lay (drums and percussion).

The band previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, released very claimed albums - the debut The Back Room in 2005, An End Has A Start in 2007 and In This Light And On This Evening in 2009. A new record is predicted to be released in 2012.

Their dark indie rock sound is constantly being compared to U2, Interpol and Joy Division and according to some online music blogs "While often compared to Joy Division and Echo and the Bunnymen by the media, the band commented that those bands are too old to have a major impact on their musical style.Upon Editors' first appearances in the British music scene, they were also heavily compared to American indie band Interpol; however both bands have strongly played down the associations"

Nominated for several awards and their albums and performances are frequently claimed by critics and audience, becoming one of the most interesting live bands in visual and audio terms.

There's a bit of mystery around Editors' new record, knowing not much about his production and recording sessions.

Munich is the second single from Editors debut album The Back Door. This song become one of the better known Editors song thanks to the appearance on the soundtrack of videogames like FIFA Street 2, Staints Row and available as a playable track for download in the game Guitar Hero 5.

"People are fragile things, you should know by now
Be careful what you put them through
People are fragile things, you should know by now
You'll speak when you're spoken to
It breaks when you don't force it"
