Grey's Anatomy

No don’t worry. This is still a music blog. But today I’m going to talk about Grey’s Anatomy and its last episode called Song Beneath The Song. If you watch regularly or have seen some episodes you know it’s a series with a lot of songs during each one and the music selected often has a highly emotional tinge and it’s played during extremely dramatic parts of the episodes. This time they decided to do a sort of musical.

I didn’t know it would be this king of episode when I started to watch it today. It was a surprise, but a good one. It was different, didn’t have the quality of a professional musical but this was a great episode. And they can actually sing. Although Sara Ramirez (who plays Torrez) has a Tony Award. And Chandra Wilson (Bailey) has been on Broadway too before and so have some of the others, I think they made a good effort, because they are actors, not signers. And we must admmit some people are professional singers, sell a lot of CDs, do huge tours and they don't sing half of what this cast sang.

They covered:
Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars
The Fray – How to save a life
Get Set Go – Wait
Kate Havnevik – Grace
Gomez – How we operate
Jesus Jackson - Running on Sunshine
Anna Nalick - Breathe (2 AM)
Brandi Carlile - The Story

"If Glee, and E.R. had a baby it would be tonight's episode of the medical drama “Grey's Anatomy”  titled “Song Beneath the Song," wrote  The Journal's Lyneka Little.

Capshaw, who performed KT Tunstall's "Universe & U,” told the Hollywood Reporter before it aired: “There were many times where I felt like, ‘Oh my gosh, we're doing the best episode of Grey's Anatomy ever. And there were other times where I thought, ‘Did we drink the Kool-Aid and we're all terrible?’ ”

Sara Ramirez singing “The Story”:

(I like this woman much more now. So talented. So full of strengh.)

Because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
Yeah you do and I was made for you

You see the smile that's on my mouth
Is hiding the words that don't come out

A.
