Lady GaGa - The Edge Of Glory
I was told not to do this...but I don't give a shit!
That's how she starts this fantastic performance live at Radio 1's Big Weekend.
Edge of Glory was one of two promotional singles from Lady Gaga’s second studio album Born this way, 2011.
She wrote this song at an emotional moment at the piano, with her father, about her grandfather.
"The song is about, how when I watch my grandpa die, I believe that he looks my grandmother and I realize that he was a champion in the life and that's when he's able to go to the edge of glory that represents being on the edge of that glorious moment."
Later, she said the song was also inspired by Sylvester Stallone's movie Rocky. "That song is about looking life in the eye and when you die saying 'I won, I'm a champion' like Rocky sprinting to the top of the staircase," she explained. "Rocky is my favourite movie – I love Rocky 3 because he gets his ass kicked in the first round and comes back."
The original version features Clarence Clemons wailing on his saxophone.
Actually, I think one of his last performances was with Miss Gaga on stage performing this song, in American Idol.
Personal opinion:
Honestly, I like the Lady Gaga who stays seat, plays the piano and just sing. Without any strange makeup or dressed with her lush dresses. Maybe that's why I don't like her albums, only these type of versions of her singles and it's also maybe why I didn't waste 50€ to go to her gig in Lisboa.
There ain't no reason you and me should be alone tonight
Yeah baby, tonight yeah baby
But I got a reason that you-hoo should take me home tonight
I need a man that thinks it right when it's so wrong
Tonight yeah baby
Tonight yeah baby
Right on the limit's where we know we both belong tonight
It's hot to feel the rush
To brush the dangerous
I'm gonna run right to
To the edge with you
Where we can both fall far in love
I'm on the edge of glory
And I'm hangin' on a moment of truth
I'm on the edge of glory
And I'm hangin' on a moment with you

Lady Gaga - Born this way (The Country Road Version)
Born this way is the lead single of Lady Gaga's second album of the same name. It was written by Lady Gaga and Jeppe Laursen.
The lyrics are good, amazing words. Full of strengh and energy.
Is it just me or it it became a bit popular writing letters supporting those who are seen as inferior by the society. First P!nk (Raise your glass), then Katy Perry (Firework), now Gaga...
Musically speaking I didn't like the first version at all. But this version is really good, in my opinion of course.
Those guitars and the drumming made the music really interesting and this one can be a hit, not because it's from Gaga but because it's a good music full of meaning.
My mama told me when I was young
We are all born superstars
She pulled my hand and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir
"There's nothin wrong with lovin who you are"
She said, "'cause he made you perfect, babe"
"So hold your head up girl and you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way
Sorry for the lack of posts, but I've been very busy with studying for my exams that will occur in the next two weeks.
