Cesária Evora dies after health issues

Cesária Évora died today in Cabo verde.
For many the icon of this country she was already ill for several months and ended her carreer on September of this year.

She was born 70 years ago in the island of São Vicente, Cabo Verde. She was born in a family full of musicians. Her father played several instruments and her brother played saxophone.

Cesária had a carreer full of success and played several times in Portugal. In 2004, she won the Grammy Award for best album of contemporary world music. During her career she released 24 albums, one live DVD - in Paris - and a lot of contributions with other musicians.

Friendly Fires, Hurting

Friendly Fires are an English band, formed by Ed Macfarlane, Jack Savidge and Edd Gibson.

The band's name comes from a track taken from the English post-punk band Section 25's album Always Now, released in 1981.

Known for songs like Hawaiian Air, Paris and Blue Cassette, they are inspired by "lush shoegaze melodies" and "classic pop songwriting" naming as main inspiration Kompakt, Carl Craig and Prince.

Currently signed by XL Recordings, they've released 2 studio albums - Friendly Fires (2008) and Pala (2011) and three EPs - Photobooth (2006), Cross The Line (2007) and The Remix EP (2007).

Pala was released on May 16 2011 and charted at number 6 on the UK Albums Charts. The album names comes from Aldous Huxley novel Island - telling the story of a journalist shipwrecked on an fiction Island, Pala.
Hurting is the last released single from the album, confirmed on October 10, 2011.

News - Adele releases the dark and powerful "Someone like you" video

When it comes to her [Adele's] albums, Adele is pain personified. Alone and adrift, brokenhearted and bitter — these are emotions we all feel, but rarely do we have the courage to express them like Adele does.

Someone like you was released as the second single from 21 in January this year but only today it the video was released.
Until now the official video was the stoning performence at the 2011 BRIT awards.

This video is a very simple black-and-white one, which makes the video even more dark (like the lyrics weren't dark enough).
It was shot in Paris, early in the morning and it's basically Adele walking the deserted streets.

Many people may have felt the same of what's describe in this song (all credits to Adele) and that what's make the video and the music itself so special and powerful - people can easily relate to it.

This is, in my opinion, a very good clip because the whole video show the sadness of a break-up and the feeling of (still) loving someone that doesn't love us back anymore. In the other hand, her voice show her power to change things and move on. It’s simple, it’s honest, it’s beautiful.
