I discovered this song through a suggestion of a friend Tiago, and later found out that I'd already read about them on a website and today was the day that I finally decided to talk about Foster The People when this music website named Paste talked about them on a Top about the 10 new songs for this summer and amazingly they were the number #1.
They are a indie pop band from Los Angeles, California. Their first gig together was in October 2009.
Originally the members are Mark Foster which besides vocals also belongs to the keyboards, piano, synthesizers, guitar, programming, percussion; Mark Pontius with drums and extra percussion and Cubbie Fink with bass and backing vocals. The band also have two live members Sean Cimino occupied with guitar, keyboard, synthesizer and backing vocals and Isom Innis with the keyboards, piano and backing vocals.
Originally the band was supposed to be named Foster & The People but people misheard it as "Foster The People".
Foster The People's best known song is the one I'm going to show you. Appears on their first studio album released this year on May 23 under the name "Torches". A second song "Helena Beat" was shared on iTunes as single of the week.
I must say that I got fascinated with this band. They sound so fresh and new. I was needing something like this, since my last big discover was Beirut which I really love. Foster The People are young but are probably one of the most promising band on the music scenario and I can't wait to hear more and more of their work!
