Queen were a British rock band, created in 1971 and marked the history of music forever.
They are very known for epic songs like We Are The Champions, Friends Will Be Friends, Bohemian Rhapsody or Radio GaGa.

Mother Love belongs to 1995's Made In Heaven album. This particular song is very special not only for the content of the co-written song between Freddie Mercury and Brian May but also for being the last song ever recorded by the iconic and considered by many has the best singer and frontman that ever existed. May sang the last verse - because Mercury wasn't able due to a serious bronchial pneumonia - that got complicated because he had AIDS.
The song also has a sample of a live sing along session recorded on Queen's 1986 concert in Wembley Stadium and a sample of One Vision's intro of the studio version and a sample of Goin' Back - that Mercury collaborated in.

My first choice is the British band Queen.
The band was created in 1971 and it's originally composed by Freddie Mercury (vocals, piano), Brian May (guitars, vocals), John Deacon (bass, guitars, vocals) and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals).
Queen is known for hits like Bohemian Rhapsody, Love Of My Life, We Will Rock You, Radio Ga Ga or I Want To Break Free.

We Are The Champions is one of the most characteristic and known songs from Queen.
The song was composed by Freddie Mercury and released as a single from their 1977 album News Of The World.
It's recognized for becoming the anthem for victories (usually on sports).
Mercury wrote this song to build an audience response. According to Brian May"We wanted to get the crowds waving and singing. It’s very unifying and positive".
Artists like Robbie Williams, Jonas Brothers, Green Day and Lily Allen covered and performed this hit, on several occasions.
Keane are "one of the greatest bands to emerge in recent times in England"according to Brian May, Queen's guitarrist.
The band released 3 albums and 1EP (that is considered to be an album) - Hopes And Fears (2004), Under The Iron Sea (2006), Perfect Symmetry (2008) and Night Train EP (2010), being nowadays on studio preparing their new album plan to be released in 2012.
White Christmas is originally by Irving Berlin and first released in 1942. The song talks about old-fashioned Christmas settings. Very different artists like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Michael Bublé or Lady Gaga have cover it.

Keane's version was recorded after been asked to do a cover for Steve Lamacq's Christmas Show in 2003.

The band is negotiating with the pop singer the possibility of him joining the band on "The Queen Extravaganza Tour". The news were shared by Roger Taylor, who was really impressed by Lambert's performance on a shared performance at the MTV Europe Music Awards, in November.
"He has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that's great," said the drummer to Billboard "We would like to work with him again. There's nothing signed just yet but we're talking about live dates. It could be very exciting."
"The Queen Extravaganza Tour" will feature three vocalists and a five-piece band. Roger Taylor is producer and music director, and he won't be performing on the tour.
Freddie Mercury is better known for being the lead singer of Queen and Monserrat Caballé is a soprano.
They've made an album together Barcelona that was recorded between 1987 and 1988.
After the confirmation of Barcelona being the host of 1992 Summer Olympics, Mercury was contacted to write a theme for the games.
The idea was to create a duet with Montserrat, but since he was a long-time Montserrat and Opera admirer and she also recognized his talent, they've decided to work on an album together with Freddie Mercury and Mike Moran turning to the main songwriters.
The self-titled song Barcelona released in 1987 is a very good reflection of Mercury's love of opera - with his high notes - and Montserrat's opera soprano voice. This song is a very good example of a combination between pop and opera.
A nice thing to notice is the different approaches, when Mercury is focused to say each word, Caballé focuses on her vocal tone - making it a bit harder to understand, despite she sings in English and Spanish.
We were really excited when the amazing British band A Silent Film, very known and respected in Portugal, accepted to give us an interview. Last week we received the answers full of an amazing humor and kindness, Robert Stevenson - singer and pianist for the band - answered some fan questions and this is the result.
Fuck Yeah Music Stories: We know you are from Oxford, how and when did you start in music? A Silent Film: The band formed in 2005, we used to rehearse in a wooded shed at the bottom of an orchard in a house Spencer and I were renting just outside Oxford. We had a cat called Pebbles, fairy lights and hammocks in the trees, we had wild parties and there were always people hanging around, sleeping over in tents or cooking on the BBQ. It was a very soulful and creative place.

FYMS: As artists, which are your biggest dreams? ASF: It's embarrassing to list them all but there are a few milestones that mean a lot to us personally like the approval of friends and family: sometimes they are the harshest critics and it hurts when they're right. I guess there a few more selfish dreams we have, like performing at the Royal Albert Hall in London or collaborating with artists we admire.
FYMS: Susana from Portugal asks “How’s the writing and recording of the new album going?” ASF: Very well Susana, thank you. We've been hiding up in Arizona with mountain lions, snakes and cowboys. We've spent a long time on this album and it's going to be heavenly to play these songs out live for the first time.
FYMS: Amy from North Carolina emailed us “How has touring the US changed them?” ASF: Amy, we were shocked how much touring the US changed us. We didn't have any crew or friends with us on our first major tour, we couldn't afford their flights and we didn't know anyone here so we simply hired a van and drove ourselves. It was one of the best experiences of my life so far, we drove through landscapes we had only read about, through thunder storms that were unimaginable and deserts that just went on for ever.
FYMS: Which are the artists that influence you the most? ASF: There are too many to mention, we have an extremely broad taste throughout the band. Personally, right now I am listening to a mix of Bon Iver, John Grant and Bob Dylan.
FYMS: On the same basis as the last one, Lisa from Kansas City askes “who is the greatest drummer ever and why?” stating it wasn’t only for Spencer. ASF: Spencer would say Roger Taylor from Queen and rightfully so! And also that guy on youtube, search for 'this drummer is at the wrong gig'.

FYMS: Your sonority is compared to bands like Keane, Coldplay and Snow Patrol. How do you feel to be compared with bands like those? Does it give you any encouragement in your career? ASF: Sure, it's nice. I can hear parts of what we do in those bands but it's just the tip of the iceberg regarding where we see ourselves when we've been playing as long as those guys.
FYMS: Jane from Belgium emailed us a question. “Are you guys planning a European tour? If so when?” ASF: Certainly Jane, as soon as the album is released in Europe we'll be making our way through Belgium. Will you take us out for waffles?
FYMS: We know you love Portugal. Which are the best things you remember from this country? ASF: The wonderful fans and friends we made there last year. It's a beautiful country and we cannot wait to get back.
FYMS: Which is your favorite from your new record? And from “The City That Sleeps”? Is there any particular reason? ASF: There's an old song called 'Anastasia' that's been kicking around for a while but we just nailed it for this record. Can't name a favourite off TCTS, we'll fall back in love with that record when we start playing live again next year.
FYMS: A Silent Film has some live experiences. Do you have any rituals before having a show? ASF: Change your shoes and socks and clean your teeth. Hygiene is key to a good performance.
FYMS: Eric from Wisconsin tweet us this “If you could play a show anywhere in the world, where would it be?” ASF: Beneath the Aurora Borealis, in the snow, somewhere cold. And obviously Wisconsin, Eric.
FYMS: With similar questions, two fans ask you “Which is the best experience from your US tour? And how has that changed you?” ASF: We ended up doing a four day residency in Las Vegas, two shows a night on the casino floor. We were competing with the razz and dazzle of Vegas which made us raise our game. Definitely a unique series of shows.
FYMS: Which is the craziest thing that ever happened to you? ASF: Winning in-studio performance of the year on Sirius XM in New York, runners up were Brandon Flowers and The Black Keys, two bands I truly admire.
FYMS: Once your album is released, which are the next steps to take? ASF: Total non-stop touring and writing the third album.
FYMS: Amy from North Carolina sent us the sweetest email – telling us how she had met you, last April, on your Chapel Hill in NC show. She asks “Could Robert describe his lyric writing process?” ASF: Hi Amy, I remember meeting you. My lyric writing process begins intensely personally. I love to tell stories in songs but I try never to write literally. I believe lyrics should be interpreted and felt, not always easily understood.
FYMS: If you didn’t belong to the music world, where would you imagine yourselves at? ASF: I'm always drawn to creativity and expression, in Brooklyn some guys were playing out a scene from Shakespeare's Romeo Juliet on the subway. I'd like to think I would find a way to be creative no matter what life throws at us.
FYMS: Susana from Portugal asks “What are you thankful for?” ASF: Every single person that ever picked up an ASF album or came to our shows.
FYMS: We know you have a great relationship with your fans. Which was the most awkward and the best moment you had? ASF: I hate it when we come back to a city and cannot remember someone's name, on the other hand I get a real kick out of remembering someone's name.
FYMS: Complete these sentences... a) One Day... ASF: ... we will write a song that will be played at either someones wedding or at someone's funeral. b) The best thing people can say about me... ASF: ... I'm punctual

This song was performed by Queen and Tom Chaplin from Keane, in honor of The Princes Trust Rock Gala, an annual gala organized by Prince Charles, Prince of Wales.
This song is named It's a Hard Life, appearing firstly on Queen's 10th album "The Works" with songs like Radio Gaga, I Want To Break Free and this one.
It's a Hard Life was written has a continuation of his previous tracklist song Play The Game, was written by the perspective of the lover and his surge of real love. The song is based on an opera called L' Pagliacci from Ruggiero Leoncavallo.
With this video I want to show you the contrast of the eternal Freddie Mercury and Keane's singer Tom Chaplin. No doubts, Freddie Mercury is the best, he is a genius. But in my defense, Tom Chaplin's version sounds so real, so Queen somehow without leaving his own voice and interpretation. Both have amazing and extraordinary voices live and here is the biggest proof.
Mr. Chaplin can reach in unimaginable tones just like Mercury. They are such performers and singers!
Brian May, Queen's guitarrist, admitted recently he thought of suicide when his bandmate Freddie Mercury died. Around the same time, his father died too, in 1991.
May told to the Daily Mail:
"I regarded myself as completely sick. I was wounded and very much in pieces. I went into a serious depression – I was subsumed by feelings of loss."
"Being in a touring band puts your friends and family on hold. You’re focused on one thing: the band. When that finishes you’re out on a limb. The band finished, so there was a terrible feeling of loss. The band was my family. We lost Freddie and my dad died at almost the same time. I didn’t want to love – I’d lost myself completely."
Brian May said on the same interview that Mercury decided not to take medication and accepted to died of a AIDS-related illness:"He said the next generation will be the ones to beat this. And the sad thing is, if it had been 12 months later he might have been OK, when combination drug therapy came in. But he was getting frail and he decided to come off all the medication apart from painkillers. Freddie loved life. He lived it to the full. And towards the end, when he realised it was no longer fun, he decided to come off medication. He was suffering, and sadly there was no way out."
Recently, Brian May appeared live during a My Chemical Romance show at Reading And Leeds Festival.
This week Freddie Mercury would have been 65 years old. Therefore the choice for the band/artist to share with you wasn't difficult.

In November 1991, the world received the news that this amazing performer had died of AIDS - disease confirmed by Freddie a day before his death, November 23.
Besides his successful career in the british band Queen, Freddie also had his solo career where for 2 different times Before Freddie's death - Mr. Bad Guy (1984), Barcelona (1988) album recorded with the opera singer Montserrat Caballé, which was Freddie's musical dream to singer with her and After Freddie's death - The Freddie Mercury Album (1992) and The Great Pretender (1992).
The song Living On My Own appears on three albums released the first Mr. Bad Guy released in 1984, then in 1992 on The Freddie Mercury Album released as a mix and on The Great Pretender released with the original version of the song.
The better known version is the mix released in 1993 by the No More Brothers. Living On My Own video is a footage of Freddie Mercury's 39th birthday in 1985 in Munich.

Queen one of the most known and one of the best bands EVER to perform in our world. Queen original members are Freddie Mercury (bless his soul!), Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor. This english band created in 1971, in London. Their history it's too rich and too interesting to try to make a resume of it. I read many many times, when appeared on my favorite musical magazine Blitz, and on the internet. Google it and enjoy their music, their history and honesty love for music.
I listen Queen since forever! I always like them! Brian May is my favorite guitarist EVER, he is so polite, he treats the guitar with all the respect, all the energy but at the same time he can do whatever he wants with it and NEVER FAILS! I am a Brian May fan.

Sorry but this man HAS SKILLS! I know i am a suspect talking about my favorite band, but look how well Tom sings, how high notes he can get, how wonderful and magical this one man can be with just one performance!
As Tom said, it's a dream came true for him and for ME! Two artists/bands i love playing together it's always awesome!
Not talking about the lyrics of this spectacular song, with or without Freddie they rocked that night and Tom helped with all his energy, talent and such presence.
