News // O Martim releases "De 5 em 7 Dias" next June 17th

O Martim is releasing a new "mini-record" named De 5 em 7 Dias, predicted for the next June 17th.

The main difference from this new "mini-record" to his first work is that Martim is not working alone anymore, counting with nine great musicians to support his new LP that will count with five sounds that are really appealing to this upcoming summer season.

António Quintino on bass guitars and wind instruments, João Pinheiro and David Pires both on drums, Iris Sarai on keyboards, Francisco Sales on the guitars, António Bruheim on Baritone sax, Diogo Duque on trumpet, Mário Conguito Armândio on Trombone and Martim on vocals and production are the "faces" behind this new record.

And between the celebrations of Em Banho Maria, De 5 em 7 Dias represents the evolution of O Martim's sound and process of making their music.
The record is going to be available for stream and purchase (fans will name their own price) on omartim.bandcamp.com, on next June 17th.

O Martim, Cais do Sodré

O Martim is a project founded by the young Martim Torres with the help of his live members : António Quintino, João Pinheiro, David Pires and Iris Sarai.

After the release of the very successful Em Banho Maria and the really "catchy-jazzy-pop-ironic" first single Banho Maria, check it here, O Martim is releasing the second single.

This single pays a beautiful tribute, taking us to a "tour-trip" to one of the most symbolic and recognised neighbourhoods in the Lisbon, Cais do Sodré, which is highly known for being a very bohemian place, full of bares and nightclubs, with a big admiration and honest ode to this place.

His upcoming shows happen in Festival Santos da Casa, in Salão Brazil, Coimbra tomorrow, April 13th, around 10.30pm.
The next one on April 25th, 10pm at Tokyo Cais do Sodré in Lisbon.

TV Rural, Correr de Olhos Fechados

TV Rural are a young Portuguese band created in 2001 and composed by David Jacinto (vocals and sax), David Santos (bass guitar and contrabass), Gonçalo Ferreira (electric guitar), Vasco Viana (electric guitar) and João Pinheiro (drums). Occasionally they count with Tomás Viana on sax, Roca on vocals and Manel Pinheiro on percussion.

They've released two albums: Filomena Grita! in late 2007 and A Balada do Coiote, a few weeks ago.

Their unique sound complemented with strong lyrics written entirely in Portuguese, turn them to something really special and worth listening to.
Described by Pedro Puppe as "anti-pop for their constant rejection of the composition formulas from radio friends, search for the spontaneous, joke and sometimes ugly. It's all freedom of musicians who come from psychedelic and progressive want to do, with elaborate arrangements and several melodic and rhythmic moments on each song, giving them this big theatrical dimension".

It's clear how creative, how revolutionary and how fresh TV Rural are and that reflects on their music and the way they expose themselves.

They are a really exciting band, I'm eager to discover more about them and their last record A Balada do Coiote it's absolutely great!

Correr de Olhos Fechados is a very catchy and grunge first single, I almost believe I listen to Ornatos Violeta's singer Manel Cruz at some point on this song. The choirs really complement this anxious feeling, it really represents some kind of rush.
I like these type of songs.
