No Doubt, Settle Down

No Doubt are an alternative rock band formed in California, around 1987 starting their work as a cover band for the English Madness.
The band members are Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont.

They released six albums: No Doubt in 1992, The Beacon Street Collection in 1994, Tragic Kingdom in 1995, Return of Saturn in 2000, Rock Steady in 2001 and the freshly record Push and Shove on last September 21, 2012.

No Doubt's success started after the release of Tragic Kingdom - where songs like Don't Speak and Sunday Morning were taken from.
This particular record had most of its lyrics based on the end of Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal's love relationship.
The band is also known for hit songs like Rock Steady, Hey Baby and It's My Life.

They had a four-year hiatus, time that each member dedicated to side projects.

In 2009, No Doubt announced a world tour with different bands like Paramore, The Sounds, Janelle Monáe and Panic! at the Disco and revealed a new upcoming record for 2010.

On June 11, 2012 they announced that the new album would be out on September 25.
Settle Down is the first single taken from Push and Shove. The lyrics has a very positive attitude very influenced by reggae music and seems to be about a girl's adjustment to life and desire to make commitments. It's a really relaxed and easy-going song, perfect to enjoy with friends.
The video was directed by Sophie Muller and its quite interesting.

While I was thinking about which video to post today I remembered an article I read this week about Lady Gaga and the fact that she leads this year Forbes' top earning women in the music list.

I decided to check The World's 25 highest-paid musicians list of the same magazine.
I wanted to post a video of a band I appreciate and I've seen live already.

The first place belongs to U2 and the second to... Bon Jovi. The band that provided me an spectacular night this summer.

To be honest I don't really care about numbers and we all know that Bon Jovi thickets are very expensive - and therefore make a lot of money - but it's always good to see our favourite bands having success around the world, essentially when it's deserved.

Fact: The band grossed $200 million playing 74 shows over the past 12 months.

Unfortunately there isn't (yet?!) a DVD of this last tour so this is from their DVD live at Madison Square Garden.

Bon Jovi are a rock band from New Jersey in 1983. The members are Jon Bon Jovi (singer), Richie Sambora (guitarist), Tico Torres (drummer) and a current bassist Hugh McDonald.

Bon Jovi came from a member's joke made from Jon Bongiovi 's name.
They've made two hiatus - the first between 1990-1991 and the second between 1997-1999, due to other members solo projects.
They also were the first band to be part of MTV Unplugged.

Their work sold over 130 million copies. Bon Jovi's better known hits are It's My Like, Living On A Prayer, Always and You Give Love A Bad Name.

The band have released 11 albums - Bon Jovi (1984), 7800º Fahrenheit (1985), Slippery When Wet (1986), New Jersey (1988), Keep The Faith (1992), These Days (1995), Crush (2000), Bounce (2002), Have A Nice Day (2005), Lost Highway (2007) and The Circle (2009).

You Give Love A Bad Name is the song from Slippery When Wet, released as the first single in 1986. This song is about a woman who has rejected her lover.
The song reached the Billabong Hot 100 as number 1. In 2009, it was named the 20th greatest hard rock of all times by VH1.
