Hello Atlantic releases his debut album

Hello Atlantic recently announced the release of his debut LP: Rambling Coast.

This is a project from João Esteves, whose songs appeared after a trip to Finland where he missed his home.

Around 2011, he already had released two digital EP's and in 2012, Slob of the Kitchen Sea was published - recorded in Helsinki and edited in Portugal, through Optimus Discos.
After live performances in Portugal and Finland, he releases Rambling Coast, tomorrow.

Rambling Coast, that includes already released songs from the upcoming recorded - Rambling Coast and Animals Of Dusk, is set to be released tomorrow, November 12.

To remind, the new record is a independent release and it will be available through Bandcamp and iTunes.
A special physical version will count with 100 unique and numbered copies.

Next November 22, Hello Atlantic will present Rambling Coast on Bacalhoeiro, in Lisboa.

Ermo, Correspondência

Ermo is a Portuguese project, who met the stages in 2012.
This band, composed by António Costa and Bernardo Barbosa, is motivated by the will to make unique music, developing a very iconic sound, mixing Portuguese tradicional music and its brave history with modern electronic beats influenced by their hometown, Braga.

Last year, after a very good and acclaimed EP, Portuguese media announced them as one of the biggest promises for 2013.

Next November 25, they are releasing their debut album Vem por Aqui, through Optimus Discos.
Correspondência is the first single taken from the record.

It's a love song that doesn't talk, necessarily, about love but it is a representation of a letter to a country, showing a devotion and love for everything that it represents.
Symbolising a ruined country but, at the same time, this song seems like an apology, a light of hope.

A project to be followed.

John Newman, Love Me Again

John Newman is a 23-year-old British singer, who's career started around 2012, and owner of a very distintive and soulful voice that can be confused with any of the early 70's soul singers.

In the same year, Newman collaborated with the British electronic quartet Rudimental in two singles Feel The Love and Not Giving In.

At this early age, he already faced a non-cancerous brain tumour and in his words to Standard "I woke after brain surgery to sound of my first hit on radio" (mentioning the song Feel The Love).

His debut album - John Newman - is set to be released this October 7th and his next single Cheating is going to be released tomorrow on BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe's show with a video set to be released next August 23.

In an interview with Digital Spy, John Newman was asked about what he felt about his hit single Love Me Again and if he found it was something special which he answered "Yeah. The guy I wrote it with, we turned around and had massive grins on our faces thinking 'There's something good here'".

The video for Love Me Again is based on the love story of Romeo and Juliet.

His peculiar approach to music mixed with the iconic and really spiritual vocals and deep and mysterious song writing turn him into one of the most curious artists of 2013 and, surely, deserved to keep an eye on.

Ciclo Preparatório, Lena Del Rey

Ciclo Preparatório are a really young Portuguese band composed by Sebastien, Pape, Graça, Consolação, Constança and Benedita in March 2012.

They are preparing their debut record, to be released in April through the label Optimus Discos.

The first single is Lena Del Rey, earlier released in the compilation Novos Talentos FNAC, in 2012.
This first entry through Ciclo Preparatório's work is an innocent adventure between the bushes of the Portuguese language and a honest reflection of Portugal's society with a few glimpses of an imagined world.

Lena Del Rey sounds like a fresh, out of the world anthem - at first, our first thoughts (obviously) go to the American singer Lana Del Rey but as soon as we listen to this track we get involved in this dreamy, catchy and really "traditional" song.
They are different, they are new and fresh but Ciclo Preparatório don't forget their roots and pay such a beautiful tribute in this song with beautiful harmonies, soft lyrics and a really good bunch of talented people behind the project.

Absolutely, one of the must-listen Portuguese bands in 2013.

Um Zero Azul, Quem Não Quer Ver?

Um Zero Azul are a Portuguese rock band composed by Kapa de Freitas (vocals and guitars), Eurico Orvalho (bass guitar) and David Sequeira (drums).

Their sound can be described as a mix between electronic and rock that fulfill their careful lyrics and proud of their mother language.

After performing on several contests around Portugal, Valentim de Carvalho Multimédia invited them to record their debut record.
A year after, with a hard work behind, they are preparing to release their first album that counted with the production of João Martins - who worked with national bands like Xutos & Pontapés and Da Weasel -, and mixed by Andy Vandette, in New York.

The presentation single is Quem Não Quer Ver? that features one of the most recognized Portuguese singers, Tim from the most successful Portuguese rock band Xutos & Pontapés.

This is a really strong lead single, which is a real reflection of nowadays society and the hard daily life of many families that fight this crisis and to survive to this hard working life, where many work and work and don't have nothing and others take advantage of it.
The catchy beat of this song is a big promise to Um Zero Azul's future in this music industry and I am eager to listen their other songs and mostly their record.
Step by step, they are reaching the deserved success and I can't wait to listen more about them.
