themed week // Owl City, Lonely Lullaby

Owl City is a side project created by Adam Young, in 2007.
The project started after one of Adam's many insomnia moments, on his parents' basement.

Adam Young also has other projects like Sky Sailing or Port Blue.

On live performances, he counts with Breanne Düren (keyboards and backing vocals), Daniel Jorgensen (guitars, bass and vibraphone), Jasper Nephew (guitars) and Steve Goold (drums).

So far, Owl City has released four studio albums: Maybe I'm Dreaming (2008), Ocean Eyes (2009), All Things Bright and Beautiful (2011) and The Midsummer Station (2012), besides two EPs.
Between Owl City's biggest hits we can count Fireflies and Good Time, with the canadian Carly Rae Jepsen.

Lonely Lullaby is a sweet, soft, love song from All Things Bright and Beautiful and released as single on July 19, 2011.
It's one of my favorite love songs due to its simplicity and emotion reflected through the entire song.
It's powerful and sweet with the ability to talk straight to the heart and the amount of feelings you get through out the song is something really magical.

themed week // Lionel Richie, Hello

Lionel Richie is an American musician, initially known for being part of the band Commodores but, who's solo career took off a few years after, in 1982, with the release of the same titled album Lionel Richie and the huge hit Truly.

During his solo career, among so many things, he has released nine studio albums and three live albums.
Hello is taken from his second album Can't Slow Down from 1983 that won the 1984 Grammy for Album of The Year. 
As a single it also reached the first position on several international charts and it's considered to be Richie's most recognised song, mostly due to the line "Hello, is it me you're looking for?".

Hello is a bittersweet song - being one of the saddest but at the same time, one of the most beautiful love songs. It's undeniable the romantic lyrics in tune with the soft melodies. It's a really touching and evolving song. No one can get indifferent to a song like this!

themed week // Bob Marley, Is This Love?

Bob Marley is considered to be the King of reggae music.
Born in Jamaica, his career started around 1962.

Bob Marley continues to be the most remarkable reggae icon and also associated with the spread of Rastafari movement and Jamaican reggae.

With 13 studio albums, four live albums and eleven compilations Bob Marley's work was full of energy, political messages and live experiences.

Is This Love? is a song taken from his 1978 album named Kaya, becoming one of his best known hits.
It talks about devotion and love, it describes the willing and desire to be happy and together with the loved person besides mentioning how good it is to have a relationship with someone and share the word "love" with that person.
It's a powerful hit and really suits to all the romantic minds.
The video for this song features the supermodel Naomi Campbell, by the age of 7.

This song was also covered by different artists like Rihanna, James Blunt or Adam Lambert.

themed week // Aerosmith, I Don't Want To Miss a Thing

Aerosmith are an American rock band, created in 1970 in Boston.
Their sound is usually described as rock with a few elements of pop or metal.

Aerosmith's actual formation is composed by Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitars), Tom Hamilton (bass guitar), Joey Krammer (drums) and Brad Whitford (rhythm guitar).

With 15 studio albums released to date, being Music From Another Dimension! the most recent which was released in 2012.
They've also released five live albums and eleven compilations.

I Don't Want To Miss A Thing is a song taken from the 1998 film Armageddon. The song was written by Diane Warren and brought Aerosmith back to the first place on many music charts.
The video for this song is a mix between the band's images and scenes from the movie.

This song is completely different from the usual Aerosmith songs - as a ballad it works strongly well and probably that's the reason why it didn't suit to every one.
But we all must agree that this is a really good song which is a constant reminder of a true love and it's so clear that they are in love with each other, without standing the idea of being apart and missing important moments of each other's lives.
It's a romantic inner struggle where that person shows how much he/she doesn't want to lose his/her true love.

themed week // Seal, Kiss From A Rose

Seal is a British soul singer, who's career started around 1989 and who's known for songs like Secret, Crazy or Love's Divine.

Along his career, Seal has released eight studio albums - Seal in 1991, Seal (aka Seal II) in 1994, Human Being in 1998, Seal IV in 2003, System in 2007, Soul in 2008, Commitment in 2010 and Soul 2 in 2011.
Besides several live and compilation records.

Kiss From A Rose was initially released as single in 1994 but later, in 1995, re-released and included on the Batman Forever movie soundtrack. A year after, on the 38th Grammy Awards he won the awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year with Kiss From A Rose and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Kiss From A Rose is a really iconic song. Personally, I think this song works a bit like a therapy, a lovely approach to this relationship and appreciation with someone we honestly love.
In a very romantic way, Seal seems to be praising his lover showing off her greatness, beauty, kindness and grace - reasons why I find this song so full of love and romance.

This is a really special Themed Week that I'm going to dedicate to love songs (probably, the most unlikely  - or less immediate - ones), check everything about this specific themed week but clicking on the ash tag below love songs.

Pink (or P!nk) is the artistic name for the pop/rock artist Alecia Beth Moore who's career started in 1995.
P!nk is known for songs like Get The Party Started, Dear Mr. President, So What? or Raise Your Glass. and recently, Just Give Me A Reason - counting with Nate Ruess (better known as the singer from Fun.)

Along her career, she has released five studio albums: Can't Take Me Home (2000), Missundaztood (2001), Try This(2003), I'm Not Dead (2006), Funhouse (2008) and The Truth About Love (2012), besides a compilation Greatest Hits... So Far!!! released in 2010.

I Don't Believe You is a love song taken from her 2008 record Funhouse co-written with Max Martin, which, and according to P!nk's words, it's a song about reconciliation and her favorite from the record "because it's just so naked. It's like taking a deep breathe and saying: 'Here I am. Take me. Take your best shot'". On another time, she also added "(...) Actually in the control room listening to this song, tears running down my face, just like 'fuck, really?'. It's the vulnerable weak side of me that I don't let out very often. (...)".

It's a great song and one of the most romantic songs by this great artist. It's an incredible and truly surprising song that really gets to you, when listened carefully.
